Emergency Responder Awareness Training
WMD Response Training Awareness Level Course – (4 hour and 8 hour format)
This is an entry level orientation program offered at the Rescue Academy. The seminar utilizes a slide presentation and student handouts to introduce course participants to response procedures to terrorist bombing incidents. The course is designed to heighten the awareness of the First Responder and prepare them to perform effectively during incidents of terrorism involving energetic material. This course is sanctioned by the US department of Homeland Security. Certificate of Completion for this course is issued by the:

The Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings Series of training programs are coordinated by LEPC. The curriculum covers the fundamental skills and techniques necessary to function in the Terrorist Bombing environment.
Success in deterring, preventing and responding to a terrorist attack in the US Virgin Islands, involving conventional or non-conventional weapons of mass destruction (WMD), relies on the establishment and maintenance of robust crisis and consequences management infrastructure. Emergency responders must be adequately trained, equipped, exercised and funded, in order to ensure their ability to effectively respond and conduct relief recovery operations, as part of an interagency team.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Emergency and disaster first response groups such as fire departments, the Red Cross, CERTs, Police, Emergency Medical Technicians, Emergency Management Personnel, Public Works Supervisory Personnel, Business and Industry Personnel, and rescue groups associated with Civil Defense protection.
